St Gemma’s Hospice

Welcome to St Gemma’s Hospice

We are committed to teaching and hope that however long your placement is with us, your confidence in caring for palliative care patients will increase. Your timetable will vary depending on your year of study and how long you will be with us.

There are many learning opportunities, some hints are in other sections of this guide. The most important thing we hope you will learn, as said by Dame Cicely Saunders, is that “you matter because you are you, and you matter to the end of your life. We will do all we can not only to help you die peacefully, but also to live until you die.”
